Year Three of the Southeastern Mass. Reader’s Advisory Roundtable (SE-RART)

The Southeastern Mass. Reader’s Advisory Roundtable is embarking on a genre study with a twist this year! For 2016-17, we are going to discuss a different genre each meeting with a focus on books by authors whose race/ethnicity, gender/sexual orientation, or range of experience are underrepresented in mainstream reader’s advisory and frequently in library collections, as well.

cover imageWe’re off to a late start with this announcement, so we’re starting with Graphic Novels, which everyone will have time to read two of before the first meeting in October, we hope.
Congratulations to Miki Wolfe on her job promotion! And a big thank you to Maggie Holmes, Adult Services/Reference Librarian at the Richards Memorial Library in North Attleborough, who will be taking Miki’s place as SE-RART co-facilitator this year!
Meetings this year will be held on a few different days of the week and occasionally a different time, based on survey responses. We hope anyone who couldn’t attend any of the Wednesday-morning sessions last year will be able to join us for some of the meetings this year.
Register for the October 20th meeting here.

The workshops will be up on the MLS event calendar soon for registering. Please register in advance so you will receive the readings for the session and the meeting reminder notice! We’re still looking for host libraries for upcoming meetings, too!
